A facility in Cluj could power the city in the event of a failure. Waste can be converted into electricity and heat
The molecular disintegration itself produces a gas used to power these generators, which produce electricity. Over 70% of this goes into the national grid, while the rest powers the plant. In one year, 25,000 tons of waste could produce 18,500 megawatts, enough energy for almost 5,000 homes in Cluj. Solution for emergencies Janos Szakacs, project manager: "In the event of a blackout, if such a thing happens, this facility can supply Cluj with emergency power, important institutions: ISU, schools, hospitals. At this moment, with 3 megawatts per hour, we can provide about 7-8% of Cluj's consumption."
